2. Theme
Versatility in modern hotel design is more essential than ever. In 2026, travellers are not just looking for a place to sleep: they want spaces that accommodate real family rhythms, capable of adapting to different ages, schedules and activities. This vision gave rise to the Family Room Experience theme, INTERCIDEC’s new creative challenge. Design of a residential unit for Hotel Family Room Experience
The new generation of family rooms goes beyond the traditional concept. These are multifunctional, durable and sensory spaces, capable of being easily transformed to suit moments of rest, play, light work, socialising and smart storage, without sacrificing luxury or contemporary aesthetics. The aim is to combine the comfort of home with the exclusivity of a high-end hotel, offering memorable experiences for families and groups of friends.
Today’s tourism demands real flexibility: rooms that accompany the daily lives of their occupants, that adapt to intensive use and that facilitate coexistence without losing privacy. Therefore, for this edition, INTERCIDEC proposes the challenge of designing a family hotel unit that masterfully combines:
Innovative and emotive design
Adaptability and resistance to use
Sensory and ergonomic comfort
Sustainability and maintainability
Home + hotel experience in perfect balance
The proposal should consider solutions that promote smooth coexistence, efficient storage, day/night transition, and shared experiences, while respecting contemporary aesthetics and the premium nature of the hospitality sector.
As in every edition, special consideration will be given to the intelligent integration of Frajumar products and solutions, as well as those of the sponsoring companies, provided that they add real value to the proposal and reinforce the vision of an advanced, functional and sensory family space.
For further information, please contact us at intercidec@frajumar.com.

The layout and use of the area should reflect a functional, adaptable and luxurious solution, in keeping with the theme of the 2026 edition: ‘Family Room Experience’. The aim is to create a versatile, high-end environment that maximises the use of space without compromising on comfort or aesthetics.
